The C&SD conducts the 2026 Population Census from January to December 2026.
This population census is conducted under Section 9 of the Census and Statistics Ordinance (Chapter 316) and the Census and Statistics (2026 Population Census) Order (Chapter 316AA). All specified persons are obliged to provide information as required by laws.
Upon receiving the notification letter, households can complete the online questionnaire or call the Census Hotline 18 2026 to complete telephone interview. Census officers will visit households not yet responded to assist them in providing the required data or conduct a face-to-face interview.
The 2026 Population Census also covers persons staying in hotels/guesthouses. They are to be invited to complete the questionnaire.
