Background

The C&SD has keenly supported the Statistical Project Competition for Secondary School Students, an annual event organised by the Hong Kong Statistical Society. The aim of the Competition is to promote a sense of civic awareness in students and encourage them to understand the community in a scientific manner through the use of statistics. Participants are requested to select, analyse and interpret official data on any social and economic issues in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong Statistical Society was founded in 1977 with the aim of promoting statistical literacy in Hong Kong. Its members are mainly academics from local post-secondary institutions and statistics professionals from the private and public sectors.
