The C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team joined Chinese New Year home visit activity organised by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Fong Shu Chuen District Elderly Community Centre on 28 February 2026. 18 volunteers, including colleagues and their family members, visited homes across Shau Kei Wan to share festive warmth with elderly residents.
The volunteers not only delivered festive gift packs, but also offered precious companionship — listening to stories, sharing laughter, and exchanging New Year blessings for peace and health. Seeing the happy smiles on the seniors' faces filled the volunteers' hearts with warmth.
On 10 January 2026, the C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team, in collaboration with Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Community Services Division, organised a joyful organic farming visit with a group of around 20 enthusiastic kids.
The event was initiated by the Civil Service Bureau, sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club, and co-organised by the C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Community Services Division to showcase cross-sector collaboration. Led by our Commissioner Mr Leo YU, 23 volunteers accompanied children in watering, fertilising, pruning, and understanding the mechanism of organic farming. During the “Farm to Table Baking” workshop, the children harvested fresh citron lemons with their own hands and used the peels to bake cookies, experiencing the journey of food from cultivation to table.
C&SD was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation 2025 (500 – 1,999 hours) under the category of Non-Commercial Organization Award (Volunteer Hours) by the Agency for Volunteer Service on 9 January 2026. This recognition not only acknowledges the enthusiasm, dedication and contributions of colleagues in volunteering work, but also affirms the C&SD’s commitment to community service and social responsibility.
The C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team took part in Gingko House meals distribution on 23 November 2025, aiming to help people in the community who need food assistance. 6 volunteers, including Assistant Commissioner Ms. Kennis LO, helped distribute the meals at a restaurant operated by Gingko House, distributing lunch boxes to those in need. This volunteer service was very meaningful, and seeing them receive help gave the volunteers a strong sense of fulfilment.
On 18 & 21 November 2025, a total of 20 volunteers from the C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team served at the Main Media Centre, wholeheartedly assisting media professionals from the Mainland and overseas by distributing the materials they needed. Contributing to such a major national sporting event was a great honour and source of pride for all our volunteers.
This event held special significance, as our volunteers successfully showcased Hong Kong’s vibrant image to the world. With their friendly demeanor and professional service, they warmly welcomed every media guest to Hong Kong, leaving them with an unforgettable impression.
The C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team joined an activity organised by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Fong Shu Chuen District Elderly Community Centre on 15 November 2025. 15 volunteers brought thoughtful gift and visited elderly and their caretakers in the Shau Kei Wan district. Through warm greetings and sincere conversations, we learned about their living conditions and daily needs, offering care and support to the elderly.
On 11 October 2025, the C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team partnered with the Civil Engineering and Development Department to bring a group of children to visit the Fanling North Community Liaison Centre. A total of 11 volunteers from C&SD Social Club participated in this enriching activity. During the visit, the children not only learned about the community development initiatives in Fanling North but also engaged in hands-on activities, such as creating their own unique tree trunk rubbings to learn about environmental protection. The event was a resounding success, providing the children with a valuable learning opportunity and fostering a greater understanding of the Fanling North community.
The C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team joined an activity organised by the charitable organisation Methodist Epworth Village Community Centre on 27 September 2025 to visit the elderly in Chai Wan district. A total of 15 volunteers, including the Assistant Commissioner, Ms Rebecca SIU, visited the elderly. The volunteers brought seasonal food and daily necessities to the elderly, and engaged in conversations with them to gain a deeper understanding of their daily lives. All the volunteers were delighted to express their love and care for the elderly through the distribution of seasonal food.
On 6 September 2025, the C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team collaborated with the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Jockey Club Tai Kok Tsui Integrated Services Centre to organise a "Mock Interview Workshop for Secondary School Students," helping local secondary students prepare for their future educational and career paths. A total of 16 students and 12 volunteers took part. Our volunteers introduced essential interview techniques and conducted onsite mock interviews, providing students with practical advice and guidance. This hands-on experience effectively boosted the students' confidence and enhanced their communication skills. Our volunteers also shared personal interview insights and workplace experiences, encouraging students to pursue their aspirations with confidence and to plan proactively for their futures.
The event was a great success. It not only provided students with a valuable learning opportunity but also demonstrated the Department's strong commitment to supporting and nurturing the next generation.

On 7 June 2025, the C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team participated in the "Community for the Chest" fundraising event organised by The Community Chest of Hong Kong. Eight volunteers assisted at TVB Broadcast City in Tseung Kwan O by answering donation hotlines, demonstrating their strong commitment to community service.
This meaningful event supports over 150 social welfare agencies in Hong Kong through The Community Chest, providing a wide range of services for all sectors of society, including child and youth development, elderly care, family welfare, healthcare, and rehabilitation counseling.
The C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team participated in an elderly visit service organised by the Sik Sik Yuen Ho Chui District Community Centre for Senior Citizens on 24 May 2025. In celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival, 23 volunteers delivered rice dumplings and festive foods to elderly residents in public housing estates in the Tsz Wan Shan district, sharing holiday cheer and care.
During the event, volunteers distributed the rice dumplings and extended festive wishes while engaging in heartfelt conversations with the elderly, attentively listening to their life stories and daily experiences. This visit not only spread the warmth of the season but also bridged connections between volunteers and the elderly, embodying the spirit of community compassion and inclusivity.
On 26 April 2025, the C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team visited the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Ma Cheng Shuk Ying Home for the Elderly. A total of 20 volunteers participated in the event, including the Assistant Commissioner, Ms Olivia OR. During the visit, our volunteers engaged in joint exercises, friendly conversations, and group singing with the elderly residents. The seniors clearly enjoyed the companionship, with many expressing their happiness throughout the event. Our volunteers found the experience equally rewarding, taking great satisfaction in bringing joy and comfort to the residents. The visit successfully conveyed community care and warmth, creating a heartwarming experience for all participants.

The C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team participated in an activity organised by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals' Fong Shu Chuen District Elderly Community Centre on 4 January 2025 to visit elderly in Shau Kei Wan. A total of 14 volunteers took part in the event, bringing winter supplies and food to the elderly. All the volunteers were delighted to express their love and care for the elderly through the distribution of winter supplies.

The C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team took part in an activity organised by the charitable organisation, Intergeneration Foundation Limited, on 7 December 2024 to help organise a visit and birthday celebrations for children living in subdivided flats. A total of 9 colleagues and 55 participants took part in this activity. It was a joyful and warm afternoon spent with children and parents from subdivided housing families. This activity enabled us to convey love and care to these families.
The C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team joined an activity organised by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Fong Shu Chuen District Elderly Community Centre and Architectural Services Department on 23 November 2024 to provide repair services to the elderly living in Shau Kei Wan District. A total of 13 volunteers helped paint the walls and ceilings of homes of the elderly residents. The activity was a great success and the elderly residents were very happy with their renovated walls and ceilings.

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, special commemorative items donated by the C&SD were given to the elderly.

On the evening of 30 November 2023, the Commissioner, Mr. Leo YU, and Deputy Commissioner, Mr KT CHAU, led 17 C&SD volunteers to distribute leaflets to the public near the South Horizons MTR station to appeal to them to vote in the upcoming District Council (DC) Election on 10 December 2023.
On 11 November, 2023, the C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team participated in the Toy Reborn volunteer service organised by the Hong Kong Christian Youth Association to assist in cleaning, sorting, and categorising toys donated from various sectors. A total of 20 volunteers participated that day, including the Deputy Commissioner, Mr. KT CHAU. This activity was very meaningful, and the volunteers also donated a batch of toys to the Hong Kong Christian Youth Association. At the same time, the volunteers gained a deeper understanding of the importance and significance to reduce waste at the source, reallocate resources and recreate items.

On the morning of 28 October 2023, 14 volunteers of the C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team sold flags for HK Saving Cat and Dog Association in Central. Our colleagues were happy to join this meaningful event to help raise funds for stray cats and dogs. The funds would be used by the Association to operate a new dog shelter for providing shelter and care for over 150 stray cats and dogs.

The C&SD Social Club Volunteer Team participated in the “Generations Connect” project organised by the University of Hong Kong on 19 August 2023. The programme aims to enhance the physical and mental well-being of the elderly by facilitating interactions between young people and the elderly, and guiding and encouraging the elderly to use electronic health software. On that day, 6 colleagues teamed up with nursing students from the University of Hong Kong to provide self-care tips, conduct health assessments and promote mental health education to the elderly through home visits in Kwai Chung. This event was very meaningful and our colleagues were very happy to be part of it.
