Public Lecture : Better Data for Better Lives

The Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) jointly organised a public lecture with the Hong Kong Statistical Society and the Education Bureau in celebration of the second World Statistics Day (WSD) on 20 October 2015, after the first WSD celebration on 20 October 2010 as proclaimed by the United Nations Statistics Division.

The public lecture on "Better Data for Better Lives" was held at the Lecture Hall of Hong Kong Science Museum on 20 October 2015. The speakers included Professor CHAN Ngai-hang of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Ms Reddy NG Wai-lan of the Financial Secretary’s Office, and Ms Marion CHAN Shui-yu of the Census and Statistics Department. The public lecture received favourable responses from the teachers and students of tertiary institutes, teachers of mathematics and liberal studies in primary and secondary schools, students of mathematics and liberal studies in secondary schools, government officials and the general public.
