To ensure that the data needs of various sectors of the community could be suitably taken into account in the development of government statistical activities, the Statistics Advisory Board (SAB) was established by the Government in 1972.  Chaired by the Commissioner for Census and Statistics, the SAB consists of both official and non-official members offering a balanced representation for various fronts.
