The 59th World Statistics Congress (WSC) of the International Statistical Institute (ISI), hosted by the Census and Statistics Department of the Government of Hong Kong, was successfully held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 25 August to 30 August 2013. The Congress attracted around 2600 delegates.
The biennial ISI WSC is regarded as an important event of the international statistical community. The WSCs provide an opportunity for statistical professions to bring each other up-to-date on new researches in various statistical branches that may have unanticipated applications to their own specialty and to discuss emerging issues which are of mutual concerns.
