Abstract

This publication is the fiftieth issue in a series of Special Topics Reports. It presents the findings of a special topic enquiry on "Patterns of hours of work of employees" conducted via the General Household Survey during January to June 2008. The enquiry aimed at providing information pertaining to employees working in the non-government sector (including those working in the private sector, subvented organisations and statutory bodies) on the contractual hours of work in their present job. Information on the average hours of work, and paid and unpaid overtime work performed by those employees during the seven days before enumeration was also provided.
