| Abstract |
This publication is the thirtieth issue in a series of Special Topics Reports to present the results of the special topic enquiries conducted via the General Household Survey. This publication presents the findings of the following two special topic enquiries conducted during April-June 2001. The enquiry on "casual employment" was to study the characteristics of casual employees. Basic demographic and socio-economic profiles of the casual employees, and the characteristics of their casual employment were presented.The enquiry on "Hong Kong residents working in the mainland of China" was to estimate the number of Hong Kong residents who had worked in the mainland of China during the twelve months before enumeration and to collect information on their characteristics. Basic demographic and socio-economic profiles of the persons who had worked in the mainland of China during the twelve months before enumeration and information on their working in the mainland of China were presented.
