Abstract

This report presents the final results of the 2006 Population By-census in summary form. It contains 45 summary tables covering the whole range of 2006 Population By-census data topics. Comparisons are made with the results of the 1996 Population By-census and the 2001 Population Census where possible. The statistical tables and charts given in this report describe the salient features of the population profile and the broad demographic changes in Hong Kong. More detailed results and analyses will be available in the "Main Report" and "Main Tables" of the 2006 Population By-census.
