| Abstract |
| The life table is a statistical device used by statisticians, actuaries, demographers, public health workers and many others to present the mortality experience of a population. It is a valuable tool for studying longevity and for comparing the mortality experience of different countries/territories at a point in time and the mortality level of a population over time. In this publication, the life tables for the years 2001 to 2006 are compiled based on actual mortality data. For the future benchmark years 2011, 2016, 2021, 2026, 2031 and 2036, the life tables are compiled based on projected age-sex specific mortality rates.
