Abstract

Hong Kong has an efficient and reliable public transport system to facilitate the movement of passengers within the territory. The system on average carried over 11 million passengers daily in 2009. This feature article presents the trend of public transport patronage of Hong Kong from 1999 to 2009. Changes in the shares of different modes of transport are also discussed.
