Abstract

Hong Kong has an efficient and reliable public transport system to facilitate the movement of passengers within the territory. The system carried over 11 million passengers daily in 2004. This feature article presents the trend of public transport patronage of Hong Kong in the past 10 years. Changes in the shares of different modes of transport are also discussed.
