Abstract

This article provides an analysis on the size and selected characteristics of the population at mid-2008 at the District Council district level. It aims to give readers a better understanding on the profile of the population in different districts of Hong Kong. These statistics are primarily based on data collected in the General Household Survey during January to December 2008, covering the land-based non-institutional population of Hong Kong (which constitutes some 99% of the Hong Kong Resident Population).
