Abstract

Since 1993, the Census and Statistics Department has been compiling the quarterly Business Receipts Indices (BRIs) of selected service industries to gauge their short term business performance. This article presents the methodology for compiling the BRIs and the performance of individual service industries in recent years as reflected by the movements of the BRIs.
