Abstract

Upon the official release of the International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities Revision 4 (ISIC Rev. 4) by the United Nations Statistics Division in August 2008, the Hong Kong Standard Industrial Classification Version 2.0 (HSIC V2.0), which adopts the basic framework and principles of the ISIC Rev. 4 and reflects the structural shift in the economy of Hong Kong and emerging local economic activities, was released on 31.10.2008. HSIC V2.0 has been used progressively in different surveys by the Census and Statistics Department since 2009.
