Users are welcome to consult the department if they require statistics which are not available in our publications or other statistical products. Some of them may be already available and be provided readily upon request although they are not published due to limitations in the size of the publication concerned and their limited market demand. For small volume of data that could be easily retrieved, data may be provided free of charge normally within one working day. For larger volume of data, photocopies of tabulations or magnetic diskettes/CD-ROM containing such data may be provided at a charge. Users may also choose to copy the data themselves from the available tabulations in printout form, for which no charge will be made. Occasional requests are received for statistics not readily available from standard tabulations. These are also entertained at a charge subject to the level of analysis permissible having regard to considerations of statistical precision and data confidentiality.
