"Hong Kong 2001 Population Census - Basic Tables for Tertiary Planning Units" and "Hong Kong 2001 Population Census - Basic Tables for Constituency Areas", both compiled based on the results of the 2001 Population Census, are published today (January 29). The report "Basic Tables for Constituency Areas" consists of three separate volumes covering Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories respectively, with prices of $40, $48 and $74 respectively. The price of the report for Tertiary Planning Units is $82.

These reports provide statistics on the socio-economic characteristics of the population in Hong Kong by Tertiary Planning Unit and Constituency Area. Each of the report is organized into two parts. The first part "Summary Statistics" provides key statistics on the population and households in each Constituency Area/Tertiary Planning Unit. Detailed population and household characteristics in each Tertiary Planning Unit/ Constituency Area are presented in the second part "Basic Tables".

For the geographical delineation of the statistics provided in these reports, readers may refer to the two map packs entitled "Boundary Maps Complementary to Tables for Tertiary Planning Units" and "Boundary Maps Complementary to Tables for District Council Districts and Constituency Areas", which show the geographical boundaries of Tertiary Planning Units and District Council Districts/Constituency Areas respectively. The prices of the two map packs are $122 and $42 respectively.
