Hong Kong recorded a surplus amounting to $49.8 billion in its Balance of Payments account (as a ratio of 9.8% to GDP) in the fourth quarter of 2011, compared with a surplus of $23.6 billion (as a ratio of 4.8% to GDP) in the third quarter of 2011. At the end of the fourth quarter of 2011, Hong Kong’s net International Investment Position amounted to $5,456.8 billion (as a ratio of 288% to GDP). (Full press release)
